I woke up in a room belonging to two of the kids from the family we met before. A very comfortable sleep after carrying my 35 pound pack for a while the day before.

The morning was blessed with even more long conversations with this amazing family. We had breakfast, shared more stories, celebrated a birthday, then met as a team.

We decided to spend time with the Lord alone and get administrative tasks done. So I packed up my prayer journal, my fanny pack, bottle of water, scarf, and headed out of the apartment.

I saw a historical amphitheater show up on google maps, and decided to walk towards it. The gps took me along a city street parallel to the shore. I saw glimpses of the water when I crossed the few streets on my way to the old ruins. I asked the Lord if I could go to the sea instead, but He said to keep walking. “Just walk a lap around the amphitheater, then you can go sit in your happy place under the sun and by the water.” God knows me so well.

I got to the old amphitheater and saw there was a path going around most of it. I started to follow it, but the Lord led me into a nearby alley instead. Some people have learned I like alleys, because you never know what’s on the other side, but don’t worry friends, this one was heavily trafficked by pedestrians. I felt so much peace and wonder walking away from my original destination. I noticed the bright and beautiful architecture and the people rushing through with groceries or between classes.

Then I noticed two men struggling to carry a TV through their door. This wasn’t a new flat screen, it was a 20 pound box tv. The man going forward up the three steps was much older, and not making it very far with the TV.

I was obedient to the Spirit’s nudging, so I dropped my scarf, journal, and water in order to grab the TV. The three of us walked 20 feet into their home and set it on the floor. We thanked each other in multiple languages until he got the right one. “Zoti ju bekoftë, God bless you” I said, then walked out.

And that was it!!

It was so simple, yet so fulfilling to walk with God in that moment.

God had my attention as soon as I felt the pull away from the shore. I am His. I ask Him to continue to use me in these unexpected ways. His timing is perfect. I want to walk according to His will. To get as close to it as I can. My God is not boring.

“I don’t understand how people don’t believe in God” – Amy, this morning

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:11

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Prov 3:5-6

Not my will, but His,
