Tupperware? tubs? boxes? ziplock?

nah.

40 foot shipping containers.

That’s where I spent 6 weeks in Thailand.

I’m standing in a pasture in the north of Thailand between 7 shipping containers, sorting moldy books in 75% humidity and 33°C/ 92°F heat, and I am enjoying it.

and I paid $19,000 to do this.

I’m crazy.

That’s what the world would say. But if you knew why I did this, everything would make sense. If you knew the love God has for all people, and He would do ANYTHING to save just one of them, everything would make sense. If you knew that we can also capture this love in our hearts and go out and do ANYTHING for the sake of one person hearing about the Savior of their life, everything would make sense.

The three horses look at my team sorting books, sweating, lifting boxes, praying, and laughing every day. The cows come by in the afternoon and let us pet them. We are crazy for enjoying this.

There is a lack of christian materials in south east asia, so Acts Co distributes materials shipped from the States. Most of these containers have been sitting in the field since covid because no teams were available to sort through them. Acts Co also is a fully functioning printing company. Their employees have important normal tasks that prevent them from a crazy project like this. Which is where we come in.

Finishing organizing these containers of materials means they will go into the hands of those who need it faster.

Within the first week of being there, a hindi and a russian bible were requested, showed up in a random box of ours, and delivered to the hands of two people in prison. Praise the Lord.

Within the next several weeks working at the containers in the field we met multiple people picking up bibles, sunday school materials, and literature to give to others or enjoy for themselves. Most of the people passing out these materials are within Thailand, but sometimes they go into Burma, China, and other countries. There is a refugee camp in north Thailand where victims from the longest civil war are fleeing to. In the last 2 weeks, 600 bibles were delivered to them from these shipping containers.

What christians do should make sense only if you know the Savior.

Whether that means evangelizing through dart leagues in bars, painting walls of a new church building, squishing in the back of a pickup for 2 hours with 10 others, attending a revival youth conference during midnight at new years, dancing at a house visit, hammam water parks with a church congregation, proclaiming the gospel into the mountains with a literal microphone, birthday celebrations with your host’s family, ping pong hangouts at the gym, walking through flooded streets, running in a parade, walking from city to city for a week allowing God to provide housing and plans, reading scripture aloud in parks, finding a communist zoo, taking over a street performer’s guitar and microphone in the city square, staying on the bus way too long because of someone I met, ALL of this is for the glory of God. These can all be forms of worship and sacrifice.

My team of 7 had the privilege to sort through all the containers so the materials are clean, easily accessible, and organized so people can give them out asap. It is so worth it. Sorting materials was our form of worship.

But yes, it looks crazy if you don’t know our good Father.

Not my will, but His,

Sarah
