Thoughts & Inspiration

My team takes an hour from each day serving at the containers in the field to intercede. While we sort books or teaching materials we shout out prayers to the God who hears His children. Sometimes we each take 10 minutes to talk with the Lord, but usually we take turns petitioning to the Lord aloud.

Now we are in our adventure week south of Bangkok. The squad shares the evenings together, but also spends time alone with God or having one on ones. There is no scheduled ministry this week, just quality time with each other. In a few days we fly back to Georgia for a 5 days of final debrief before flying home.

As I prepare to transition back to Oregon, I want to invite you to pray with me. These have been some of my personal prayers, or ones from my team. Use this list to pray with me, or adapt them for yourself.

  • I pray that my moments in the States to share about the World Race would be an encouragement to those who listen.
  • I pray for Your glory to be known through our lives.
  • Protect me from stepping back into the worldly lifestyle when I move back to oregon.
  • Lord, help me dream with You. Stir up passions and desires you want me to pursue. Lead me on a lifelong adventure with You. Close the doors You don’t want me to step through. My life is Yours.
  • May the zeal of building Your kingdom fill me
  • May I never stop worshiping You. Especially as I find new habits in the States.
  • I pray for me to make room for You to still show up. Life can be very easy, but I still want to be intentional and see You at work.
  • Show me how to share the evidence in my life of You, an amazing Dad.
  • Bring back memories that will glorify You. There are a lot of little things that I don’t remember, but if You want me to share them with people, bring the memories to mind again.
  • Help me prepare to share this experience. How do I condense it all? Overwhelm me with Your excitement, wisdom, and joy, not stress or perfectionism.
  • Lord, remove the lies I’m listening to. Fear, lust, worthlessness, and pride doesn’t not get to have real estate in my mind. Help me resist the enemy. I am set free for freedom, not to be in bondage to anything else. Thank You for giving me freedom.
  • Help me understand what it truly means to be free in You. I want to understand better what it means to not have to earn your love. Thank You for covering my sin. Help me understand the magnitude of the grace You have given.
  • I pray that we would look nothing like the world. May people see a glimpse of You when they see me. I don’t want to be remembered, I want people to remember You.
  • I pray for relationships back home. May people see P Squad for who we are now, not who we were when we left. I pray for our families, that they will be filled with grace and love as we communicate with each other. Continue to work in our parents, sibilings, friends, etc. May our communities not be filled with guilt, shame, or condemnation as they hear about our experience. May they have an interest in what we have to share about You. May they not write Your stories off. Give P squad wisdom in how and what to share. Give them a heart that doesn’t reject You, Lord. God, we want to see our loved ones praising Your name. Unveil their eyes to how You can restore each person into a perfect relationship with You. By Your blood You can bring people back to You. Thank You for all that You are doing.
  • We also pray for us to be encouraged by how You have worked in our friends and family back home. Give us a supernatural ability to listen with love.
  • Use P squad to be a witness for You, no matter the cost. Give us boldness and have us count it all as joy. We are worthy of suffering for You.
  • Help us be slow to speak and get angry, but quick to listen.
  • I pray for every host and ministry P squad was able to partner with. I pray for every ATL conversation, every painting handed out, every person we shared meals with, every hostel host, bus driver, etc. Continue to bring people into their lives to encourage them. We leave so many of these interactions in Your hands.
  • Help P squad pursue their dreams. Light a fire in each of our hearts. Show us the next step, we want to be faithful. Continue working in us.
  • Help us trust in You more. You are sovereign. Our time is Yours. If that means a week back home or 15 years. Lead is in how we spend our time.
  • Surround me with your angels and protection.
  • Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
  • Remind me to not get caught up in busyness, but to sit in wonder and awe of Your majesty
  • Put a new song in my mouth.
  • I bow my knee in reverence of You.

Not my will, but His,

Sarah

  1. You have some powerful prayers there Sarah! I will try to pray a few each day for you while we are here at the TMF Conference.

  2. We are so happy that you are following your call to Christ and ministry. I will be praying for you and these requests. They really spoke to my heart as well. Love you! Aunt Traci

  3. How to stay focused on Christ and his gospel in this culture worshipping at so many high places is a huge challenge. May the things you’ve learned and experienced continue as you live among a people, many of whom don’t really want to listen. So looking forward to seeing you soon!

  4. Hi Sarah, It is a tough job to come back with a ton of new experiences to share, and have them fall on the ears of those who have not shared your experiences. Be patient with us. We love you and we love the Lord and we desire His best for you. May you not grow weary in doing what is right. May you be covered with His righteousness. Nancy T.
