My team’s ministry situation in Albania gave us sooo many opportunities to fall in love with Jesus.
We had just received our new teams, then we went to Kotodesh, a tiny village in eastern Albania. Our host planted a church and we partnered with him for the structured ministry throughout the week.
My team encouraged each other to be disciplined in many ways, including waking up early to abide with the Living God. I really enjoyed the quiet mornings, and evenings. I love how Jesus sits with me.
I got to see the heart of Jesus in my teammates as we had many aspects of ministry. We worked with children, teenagers, widows, and new friends we met on the street. We were also given time to bond as friends and pour into each other. My prayers regularly included me petitioning God to expand my heart so I could love and shepherd these girls well. I love how I can see Jesus in my community.
I learned how to better see people who are lost, and boldly declare the gospel. I have a new found love of God, and every time I look out the window I want to shout the name of Jesus. I love the fire Jesus lit in me.
Every day is a spiritual battle. While in Romania and Albania, I learned the importance of putting on the armor all hours of the day. I need to ask for God’s strength to put on the armor, I cannot do it myself. I love how Jesus will never leave me, and wants me to fight alongside Him.
Jesus commands us to go into the world to proclaim the good news of salvation. Go give Isaiah 61 a read, it’s pretty good! God wants us to understand His never ending and never failing love. I am still learning, but so far it’s awesome.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39
not my will, but His,
